Why's Bills' Josh Allen Need for X-Ray After 'Bumpy' Win at Lions?

The Buffalo Bills picked up another victory against a top seed when they defeated the Detroit Lions, 48-42, on Sunday in Ford Field.

The Bills were carried by yet another MVP-caliber performance from quarterback Josh Allen. He finished the game with 430 total yards and four total touchdowns, two passing and two rushing.

Allen also made history in the dominant performance. Allen now has 36 total touchdowns (25 passing and 11 rushing) this season. He is the first player in NFL history with four consecutive seasons of 35 or more passing and rushing touchdowns.

However, Allen apparently got banged up late in the game, which led to him getting an X-ray done on his shoulder. According to the star quarterback, though, he didn't suffer anything significant.

"Just took a bumpy fall," said Allen. "More peace of mind than anything. Just to get everything checked out."

Allen avoiding a substantial injury is huge, not only considering how he's played this season, but also because the Bills are still two games behind the Kansas City Chiefs for the No. 1 seed in the AFC with three games remaining.

Even if Allen's injury isn't substantial, it had to have caused him some pain if he thought he should get a scan done. If Allen's shoulder ends up becoming more swollen, he could miss some practice in the upcoming week.

Looking ahead, the Bills will face the New England Patriots next week for the first time this season. If Allen were to miss some time or be banged up against any opponent, the Patriots are certainly an ideal one.
