The Philadelphia Eagles' biggest question mark about their starting lineup is whether or not starting center Cam Jurgens will be available to suit up in the Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Jurgens was listed on Wednesday's estimated injury report as a non-participant due to a back injury he suffered during the Eagles' divisional round win.
The Eagles tested Jurgens' back injury ahead of the NFC championship, though they opted to go with Landon Dickerson as their starting center. The Eagles kept Jurgens active as an emergency option, which they ended up needing after Dickerson left early with a knee injury.
Jurgens fought through the pain and finished the game as the Eagles went on to be the Washington Commanders 55-23.
Whether Jurgens or Dickerson are available come Super Bowl Sunday remains up in the air.
“Yeah, we'll see. We'll see,” Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni told reporters on Tuesday about the availability of Jurgens and Dickerson for SBLIX. “I know how tough these guys are and how hard they work, and all these guys are playing through bumps and bruises right now.
“I just see their relentless work and relentless effort to get themselves in the best shape they possibly can with their bodies to be ready to go. So time will tell. We'll see as that goes. I know that these guys are doing everything they can do. I can't tell you how much I respect what they go through and what they put their bodies through to play this game we love.
“Yeah, just got so much respect for that. Toughness is a characteristic that I value so much in life and in football. We’ve got a tough team. These guys, the guys you're asking about, they're tough as heck. You can go a long way with toughness.”
The good news is that the Eagles have over one week until the Super Bowl on Feb. 9. That means they can take it easier on Jurgens and Dickerson this week during practice before turning things up a notch when they kick off practice in New Orleans next Wednesday.
It also, hopefully, means there is a good chance both offensive linemen are well-rested and healed enough to play in the big game.
