GLENDALE – The embarrassment that is the 2026 offseason for the Arizona Cardinals continue to get even worse. After seemingly the last team picked for the coaching search, not spending in free agency and polarizing NFL draft, the Sportsbooks had a brutal response. The Cardinals will be a betting underdog for every single game next year, even with the extra home game.
The most embarrassing aspect is the spread for the first 11 games is a touchdown or greater for the franchise. For context, even if the team starter every game up seven points, the Sportsbooks would still like their chances. The only two NFL teams to go winless was the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2017 Cleveland Browns, but they did that in a 16-game season.
The #Cardinals are underdogs in every game this season, and they are TD-or-more underdogs in each of their first 11 games:
Wk 1: @ Chargers (+11.5)
Wk 2: Seahawks (+10)
Wk 3: @ 49ers (+11.5)
Wk 4: @ Giants (+7)
Wk 5: Lions (+8.5)
Wk 6: @ Rams (+13.5)
Wk 7: Broncos (+7.5)

Arizona’s first 11 weeks is tough. Seven of those games will be on the road and don’t get a bye week till Week 14. Playoffs teams like the Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Rams and Chargers. Other fringe playoff teams appear during that first half stretch, including Detroit Lions, San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs. Certainly a trap game could happen for the superior opponents, leading to an upset win.
Regardless, Arizona doesn’t necessarily need to get lucky to win a game. The talent on the roster is quite impressive at certain positions. An All-Pro tight end in Trey McBride, a top-drafted running back in Jeremiyah Love and a strong wide receiver core, led by a LaFleur schemed offense. The defense was bombarded with injuries and should be better than the final half of 2025.
To go winless in today’s NFL would truly be a historic feat by the franchise, and the final nail in the coffin for owner Michael Bidwill and general manager Monti Ossenfort if it shakes out.
