Will Levis Trade Idea Has Titans Land Dynamic Playmaker for Cam Ward
Denny Simmons/The Tennessean / USA TODAY NETWORK

The Tennessee Titans effectively sealed quarterback Will Levis' fate when they selected Cam Ward with the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. After being a second-round pick in 2023, Levis has largely underperformed, which spurred the team to replace him this offseason.

New general manager Mike Borgonzi is starting to find players that he can use to build around Ward. Veteran wideouts Tyler Lockett and Van Jefferson were both added before the draft, and three rookie pass-catchers were selected during the draft as well.

Levis still has some trade value, however, considering he has high-end traits that he has not yet tapped into.

On Friday, Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox provided several potential trade packages for Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts. One of his proposals included the Titans trading for him in exchange for Levis, a 2026 third-round pick, and a 2026 seventh-round pick.

Pitts has also largely underperformed in his NFL career, but he has immense talent that head coach Brian Callahan can help him uncover. He was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, and his rookie season was one of the best in recent memory.

He caught 68 passes for 1,026 yards and a touchdown in 2021, but has not eclipsed 700 yards since. Pitts has, however, seen an increase in touchdown catches during every year of his NFL career so far.

If the Titans were to make this deal, the tight end room would become a bit crowded. Chig Okonkwo has been the undisputed starter over the last few years and the team used a mid-round pick on Texas tight end Gunnar Helm in this year's draft.

However, a franchise can never surround their young quarterback with too many skilled offensive players. Levis may become a casualty of the team looking to add more firepower for Ward, but it would also give the third-year quarterback a bit of a fresh start.
