Minnesota Vikings kicker Will Reichard capped off an epic first half with a career-long 62-yard field goal. The former Alabama place kicker put the Vikings up 34-3 over the Cincinnati Bengals through 30 minutes of action.

Through his first two games this season, Reichard was four-of-four on field goals with a long of 59 yards. He’s now eclipsed that mark Sunday.

You can see the former Crimson Tide star drill his career-long in the video below. Safe to say, it was a banner first half for Minnesota.

That was Reichard’s second field goal of the half, making him six-of-six through 2.5 games in 2025. He was also four-for-four on extra points in the first half.

As a rookie in 2024, Reichard was 24-of-30 on field goals with a long of 58 yards. He was a perfect 38-for-38 on his PATs.

Will Reichard nails career-long field goal for Vikings

Reichard was a sixth round draft pick of Alabama in the 2024 NFL Draft. He had a historic college career while with the Crimson Tide.

Reichard played five years in Tuscaloosa and was 295-of-297 (99.3%) on his extra points. He was also 84-of-100 (84%) on field goals. When you combine that altogether, Reichard scored 547 points in his career, which is the all-time FBS record.

Coming into the game, the Vikings and Bengals had to use backup quarterbacks due to injury. Carson Wentz and Jake Browning filled in for JJ McCarthy and Joe Burrow, respectively.

Wentz is likely the guy for at least two games. He was previously the franchise quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles, winning Super Bowl LII, albeit watching from the sidelines nursing a torn ACL. Wentz was the frontrunner for MVP in 2017 before the injury ended his season.

Over the course of the next two years, Wentz showed flashes of his elite self, but never returned to form. Struggles in 2020 and the emergence of a then-rookie Jalen Hurts forced his trade to the Indianapolis Colts. However, Wentz lasted just one season with the Colts and then the Washington Commanders over the following two seasons.

In 2023, Wentz served as a backup for the Los Angeles Rams before signing with the Chiefs in 2024. Now, he’ll get a crack to steer the Vikings’ ship for McCarthy, potentially over the next four games. Over the course of his career, Wentz has 22,410 yards, 153 touchdowns, 67 interceptions, a 62.7% completion percentage, 1,418 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns.
