Will the Dolphins Win in Prime Time?

During Coach Mike McDaniel’s tenure as the Miami Dolphins’ head coach, the Dolphins have four wins and 11 losses in prime-time games.

In cold-weather games with McDaniel at the helm, the team is 0-4.

This assumes that temperatures in the 40s, as the team experienced playing the New York Jets, cannot really be considered cold.

So, let’s go forward to this Monday’s matchup versus the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The temperatures at Heinz Field, also known as Acrisure Stadium, are expected to be between 11 and 20 degrees, with snow showers.

Those temperatures can be considered cold.

On Monday, the Dolphins will face several demons that have led to familiar, nationally known narratives.

The game is on Monday Night Football.

The game is in freezing weather with a chance of snow showers.

The game is in Pittsburgh with the crazed Steelers fans waving the yellow handkerchiefs.

And the Steelers remain in contention for a playoff bid in 2025.

Ouch.

Tua Tagovailoa will not be able to get away with the minimal velocity and inaccurate passes against the Steelers.

McDaniel will have to call a majority of running plays, with Tua executing shorter, safer passes.

McDaniel’s play calls must be smart to beat the Steelers, avoiding calls like the almost backward pass Tua threw from his own five-yard line against the New York Jets.

Are the Dolphins capable of beating the Steelers in these conditions?

Yes, they are.

And the team is believing, led by Jordan Brooks and Minkah Fitzpatrick on defense, and by De’Von Achane and Jaylen Waddle on offense.

But the Miami Dolphins must play a flawless game to have a chance.

If the Dolphins win on Monday, the narratives will begin to disappear.

If they lose and lose badly, we will be embarrassed again on the national stage.
