Super Bowl LIX is just a few hours away, with the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles making their final preparations for the big game.
The Chiefs are hoping to come away with their third straight Lombardi Trophy - and make NFL history as the only franchise to win three straight Super Bowl titles. The Eagles, however, have revenge on their minds following a 38-35 loss to the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII just two years ago.
With the game drawing near, fans are wondering if star tight end Travis Kelce and girlfriend Taylor Swift will take the next step in their relationship if the Chiefs were to win the Super Bowl once again. The couple’s romance started just before the 2023 season kicked off and engagement rumors have grown ever since.
Unfortunately for those hoping to see a proposal at the end of the game, it doesn’t sound like Kelce will be handing out a ring after the Super Bowl. A source told the Daily Mail that Kelce doesn't plan on a "public spectacle" as the setting for his engagement with Swift, preferring a more private setting with just the two of them.
"Travis is going to have to go above and beyond but it won't be a public spectacle," the source said. "They are both aware of the fact that the whole world is so thirsty for them to be engaged and, while Taylor does want a white wedding one day, her friends just feel like people need to chill and let them be a couple."
The couple reportedly isn’t in a hurry to get hitched, much to the dismay of Swifties and football fans around the country.
"When the time comes, people will know about it. But they are going to keep some things private and will have elaborate plans in place to ensure secrecy," the source told the Daily Mail. "They are not worried about those close to them leaking info because people who know them respect this."
When the proposal does happen, it doesn’t sound like fans will have an advanced warning - leaving them waiting for the news after the fact. "When and if Travis does make this happen it will be for Taylor and for Taylor only," they said.
Super Bowl LIX between the Chiefs and Eagles kicks off at 6:30 p.m EST on Fox.
