The Wisconsin Badgers recruiting department has begun to send out visit invitations and recruits are booking a chance to see Madison up close.

One such recruit who has flown under the radar thus far is 2027 linebacker Jackson Reynolds, an Ohio native with a unique connection to the program. Reynolds is currently not ranked in the 2027 class, but likely will make an appearance after putting another strong season under his belt. Toledo offered the linebacker a scholarship in March to kick-off his Division-I offer list with Eastern Michigan soon following.

The talented linebacker does not hold an offer from a handful of programs who are currently interested however such as Kentucky, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Michigan State, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Each program is expected to continue to take a closer look and more offers could develop shortly for the recruit.

When asked about how the recruiting process has felt so far, Reynolds replied, “The recruiting process has been exciting but also a learning experience. I’ve enjoyed building relationships with coaches and getting to see how different programs operate both on and off the field.”

Reynolds also added, “Early on, I was looking for a program where I could continue to develop as a player, compete at a high level, and be part of a culture that emphasizes accountability, teamwork, and personal growth.” The linebacker noted that academic support and assistance provided outside of football have both become major factors in his recruiting process.

When the Wisconsin Badgers and director of recruiting Pat Lambert extended the opportunity to visit the program, Reynolds pounced and quickly booked a visit for October 11th. The linebacker will be in attendance for the clash between the Badgers and the Iowa Hawkeyes as he receives his first up-close look at the program.

“I’m really looking forward to experiencing a Wisconsin game day firsthand. Being on campus, seeing the energy of the fans, and getting a feel for the team’s culture on one of the biggest days of the season is going to be exciting. I’m also looking forward to meeting the coaches and players in person, learning more about the program, and seeing how I could fit in both on and off the field,” stated Reynolds.

With the Wisconsin Badgers in mind, the program is one that Reynolds has both plenty of respect for and also one he admires. “My experience with Wisconsin has been really positive. I hold Coach Fickell, Coach Tressel, and Coach Borland in very high regard,” stated Reynolds.

The linebacker also added an interesting bit of information, stating, “My dad played for the Buckeyes for a short time and has shared nothing but great things about Coach Fickell and Coach Tressel.” Reynolds added, “I also have spent some time around Bobby Carpenter and Coach Schlegel, and they are strong endorsers of the Wisconsin staff as well.”

When asked about his personal thoughts on the program after initial conversations with the Badgers, Reynolds stated, “Wisconsin’s reputation really precedes itself—they’re known for developing tough, hard-nosed defensive players. Receiving an offer to visit for a game day was exciting because it shows there’s mutual interest. I’m really looking forward to experiencing a game day firsthand and meeting the coaches in person.”

The talented linebacker is both a physical presence on the field and also one the Wisconsin Badgers would truly admire from a stylistic point of view. Reynolds hits and hits hard and calls himself an “old-school” player due to his physical nature and willingness to disrupt offenses at any cost. With a 6-foot-3-inch, 204-pound frame, Reynolds just needs a little more time to prove himself on the field before breaking through the rankings in a major way.
