After keeping a close eye throughout the year, the Wisconsin football staff extended a well-earned scholarship to a talented athlete.
Kellan Hall, an athlete in the 2028 recruiting class, was offered a scholarship early in the month of May during a visit with assistant linebackers coach Tuf Borland. Hall had previously met with Borland ahead of his freshman season and was told that Wisconsin would be watching closely during the season.
The 6-foot-4-inch, 260-pound athlete can play an array of positions including defensive tackle, offensive tackle, and defensive end. Hall put on “20 pounds since the season” and impressed Borland physically during the second visit. Wisconsin sees Hall as a potential defensive lineman given his size and aggressive play-style on the football field.
After receiving the offer from the Wisconsin football program, Hall stated, “The offer was nice and a real testament to the hard work that I put in to better myself throughout the season as well as the postseason.”
The Wisconsin football defensive coaching staff has put plenty of time and effort into finding the top athletes in the 2028 class, and the staff believes Hall has the potential to land amongst them.
Currently, the Kentucky native holds scholarship offers from Kentucky, Louisville, Oklahoma, Alabama, and Auburn to name a few. Wisconsin acted after watching over the film from the dynamic season that Hall had became the latest team to offer the defender. According to Hall, Borland expressed that “Wisconsin had really strong interest” upon extending the recent scholarship.
While the Wisconsin football program might be one of the most recent programs to offer Hall, the Badgers could be a program to watch moving forward. The defender has expressed key recruiting factors moving forward which could put Wisconsin in a good position when a potential cutdown occurs.
When asked about the experience of the Wisconsin staff with Borland in mind in particular, Hall stated, “That is definitely one of the key factors in my recruiting process.” The defender also added, “I always do my homework on the history of the program and the players, but most importantly the coaching staff and the success they had as players.”
Hall also expressed a strong fanbase, a family-like environment, and academic assistance as other major factors in the recruiting process.
With the previous season a thing of the past and off-season camps well under way the spotlight will only continue to shine on Hall. Wisconsin will have to work to continue to develop a relationship with Hall moving forward in order to draw the recruit closer to Madison.
In terms of potential production on the field, Hall could potentially become a longterm solution to some of the defensive line issues. Wisconsin has struggled to develop production on the field over the past few seasons along the line. The staff has pushed hard to find more physically gifted recruits who play with intensity and physicality on the field to fill the room.
