WR Donovan Peoples-Jones gives Browns consistency and spark

WR Donovan Peoples-Jones may not be a common household name, but he may be the most reliable offensive player for the Browns this season.

The third-year wide receiver has been secretly one of the most consistent pass catchers in the NFL this year. Peoples-Jones is one of only five players who have logged a seven-game streak with 50 or more receiving yards.

His stats may be aided by lining up next to WR Amari Cooper, but he finds himself in good company. Peoples-Jones has a season-best 637 receiving yards with five games still to go.

Along with his impressive consistency, he has the ability to provide a spark to his team when needed as well. He scored his first career special teams touchdown in Week 13 after the Browns were held scoreless throughout almost the entire first half.

It was Cleveland's first return for a touchdown since 2015, according to the AP's Tom Withers, winning Peoples-Jones the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.

In what has been somewhat of a frustrating season for Browns fans, Peoples-Jones is a bright spot that you can't help but root for.

Cleveland isn't mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, but it's looking more and more unlikely each week. Maybe if Peoples-Jones can continue making plays like he did in Week 13, the Browns can find a way to sneak in as a Wild Card team.
