Zach Sieler Expresses Desire to Remain With Dolphins

We’re now in Week 7 of the 2026 NFL season, yet the Miami Dolphins still haven’t won a game in year 1 of this rebuild under Jeff Hafley and Jon-Eric Sullivan. With that in mind, and the league’s Nov. 10 trade deadline less than a month away, plenty of speculation suggests Miami might offload some of its veteran players for draft capital.

Maybe no Dolphins veteran has been in more recent rumblings than star defensive end Zach Sieler. At 31, he doesn’t exactly fit this team’s winning timeline, and he could help squads across the league vying for a Super Bowl title. However, the long-time Dolphin made it clear in comments on Monday that he wants to stay in Miami.

He said things that should be music to Dolphins fans’ ears. For one, he said he’s committed to building a winning foundation in Miami, adding he wants “to win here as a Dolphin.” Moreover, he said he “loves it” with the Dolphins and praised the leaders at the top of the organization, Hafley and Sullivan.

“I think Hafley, Sully have done an amazing job here. I’m excited to see this team growing and where we’re going and get some wins,” he said.

But at the end of the day, Sieler’s comments don’t make him any less of an ideal trade candidate, and he still seems likely to be moved before the deadline. He’s a logical candidate because he’s not only a veteran respected by his peers, but also consistent and productive at the highest level for a long time. After all, he’s amassed a whopping 36.5 sacks in total since the start of the 2020 season.
