The Michigan Wolverines finished the 2025-26 season 31-8-1, but their season ultimately came to an end in the Frozen Four with a double-overtime loss to eventual National Champion Denver. The 2026-27 Wolverines team will be missing forwards T.J. Hughes, Kienan Draper, and Josh Eernisse, along with defenseman Luca Fantilli, Tyler Duke, and Hunter Hady. They did add forwards Kieren Dervin, Jack Nesbitt, and defenseman Cameron Reid. They’re bringing back their leader in goals in Will Horcoff and assists in Michael Hage. Today, they got a major commitment as one of the top prospects in the 2027 Draft is committing to the Wolverines in defenseman Landon DuPont.

The 17-year-old, six-foot, 190 lbs defenseman spent last season in the Western Hockey League with the Everett Silvertips. In 63 games, he had 73 points on 18 goals and 55 assists. He was +59 with three power-play goals and six game-winning goals. In 18 playoff games, he had 23 points on five goals and 18 assists. He was a +20 with a power-play goal and a game-winning goal.

In his first season, in 64 games, he had 60 points on 17 goals and 43 assists. He was a +31 with 13 power-play goals and seven game-winning goals. In ten playoff games, he had 15 points on five goals and ten assists. He was a plus-seven with three power-play goals. In 127 career WHL games, he had 133 points on 35 goals and 98 assists. He was a +90 with 13 power-play goals and seven game-winning goals.

In 28 total playoff games, he had 38 points on ten goals and 28 assists. He was a +27 with four power-play goals and a game-winning goal.
