Chicago Blackhawks forward Teuvo Teravainen will represent Finland at the inaugural 4 Nations Face-Off as he was included in Wednesday's roster announcement.
Teravainen spent parts of three seasons in Chicago to begin his career before a trade sent him to the Carolina Hurricanes. He returned to the Blackhawks this past summer when he signed a three-year deal in free agency.
The 30-year-old has 12 points (six goals, six assists) in 25 games this season, bringing his NHL career total to 471 points (161 goals, 310 assists) in 695 games. Teravainen has represented his native Finland at various competition levels and most recently appeared at the 2018 IIHF World Championship when he logged 14 points (five goals, nine assists) in eight games.
Now, he'll join a cast of NHL-level fellow countrymen for the 4 Nations Face-Off, a round-robin tournament set for Feb. 12-20, 2025 in Montreal and Boston.

While Teuvo Teravainen suits up for Finland in mid-February, the rest of his Blackhawks teammates will likely have a two-week break from hockey.
Chicago's other potential 4 Nations Face-Off roster candidates — Connor Bedard (Canada), Seth Jones (U.S.), and Alex Vlasic (U.S.) — aren't expected to make their respective nations' rosters, per insider/analyst projections.
While roster announcements for Finland and Sweden are in the books, the Canadian and American rosters are still to come. Those groupings will be announced Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. CT on TNT in the U.S. and Sportsnet in Canada.
But don't count on another Blackhawks player making the cut.
