The Iowa Wild today added to their team as they signed forward Mark Liwiski and defenseman Wyatt Newpower. Both contracts are for one year. Liwiski last season played in 43 games with the Manitoba Moose, recording seven points on three goals and four assists. He was a minus-two with 144 penalty minutes. Newpower in 40 games with the Bridgeport Islanders recorded ten points on two goals and eight assists. He was a minus-four with 52 penalty minutes.

Liwiski has spent two seasons in the AHL with the Manitoba Moose, playing in 50 games, recording nine points on four goals and five assists. He was a minus-one along with 170 penalty minutes. In 2022-23, he played in 67 games with the Wichita Thunder in the ECHL, recording 17 points on ten goals and seven assists. He was a -26 but had 192 penalty minutes. In 2023-24, aside from playing with the Moose, he played with the Norfolk Admirals in the ECHL. In 54 games, he had 25 points on 11 goals and 14 assists. He was a +14 and had a whopping 310 penalty minutes.
Newpower played his college hockey at the University of Connecticut, where in four seasons he played in 114 games. He had 47 points on 11 goals and 36 assists. He was a plus-three with 68 penalty minutes. Following college, he has spent the last five seasons in the AHL. In 212 career games, he has 44 points on 11 goals and 33 assists. He is a plus-eight and has 246 penalty minutes and a power-play goal.
