AHL: New York Rangers Assign Four to Hartford Wolf Pack, Place Four on Waivers

The Hartford Wolf Pack are closing in on starting training camp and opening their preseason schedule. Today, they have five players assigned to them by their parent club, the New York Rangers. The Rangers also placed four on waivers today in hopes they can be assigned to Hartford. The five assigned to Hartford are forwards Jaroslav Chmelar, Adam Sykora, and Kalle Vaisanen, along with defenseman Jackson Dorrington and Case McCarthy. The four on waivers are forwards Anton Blidh, Justin Dowling, and Trey Fix-Wolansky, along with defenseman Derrick Pouliot.

Jaroslav Chmelar

Chmelar, in 71 games for Hartford last season, recorded 29 points on 12 goals and 17 assists. He was a -37 with three power-play goals and a game-winning goal.

Adam Sykora

Sykora, in 71 games for the Wolf Pack last season, had 30 points on nine goals and 21 assists. He was a -23 with a power-play goal and a game-winning goal.

Kalle Vaisanen

Vaisen was loaned to Ilves of Liiga last season, playing in 48 games, recording nine points on five goals and four assists. He was a minus-nine.

Jackson Dorrington

Dorrington last season played in 37 games for Northeastern University, recording 15 points on two goals and 13 assists. He was a minus-two. In nine games for the Wolf Pack, he had a goal and an assist. He was a plus-one.

Case McCarthy

In 16 games for Hartford last season, he recorded an assist and finished as a plus-one. In 19 games for the Bloomington Bison, he had seven points on two goals and five assists. He was a minus-two with two power-play goals.

Anton Blidh

Blidh played in 71 games for the Wolf Pack; he had 36 points on 19 goals and 17 assists. He was a plus-eight with a shorthanded goal.

Justin Dowling

Dowling last season in 52 games for the Devils had seven points on two goals and five assists; he was a minus-six. In seven games with the Utica Comets, he had two goals and two assists. He finished with a minus-seven with two power-play goals.

Trey Fix-Wolansky

Fix-Wolansky last season played in 65 games for the Cleveland Monsters in the AHL. He recorded 60 points on 26 goals and 34 assists. Fix-Wolansky was a minus-four with eight power-play goals and seven game-winning goals. 

Derrick Pouliot

Pouliot, in 70 games for the Syracuse Crunch, recorded 53 points on seven goals and 46 assists. He was a plus-ten with six power-play goals.
