The New Jersey Devils drafted Baddock 161^st overall in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. He spent five seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Edmonton Oil Kings. Baddock played in 255 games, and he had 103 points on 54 goals and 49 assists. He was a -19 with 480 penalty minutes. He played in 46 playoff games with the Oil Kings. Baddock had five points on four goals and an assist. He was a plus-one with 33 penalty minutes. He then joined the Adirondack Thunder in the ECHL. In 21 games, he had four assists.
