Team USA announced on April 24 that two Chicago Blackhawks players made the roster for the 2025 IIHF Men's World Championship: defenseman Alex Vlasic and forward Frank Nazar. The Men's Worlds will take place from May 9 to May 25 in Sweden and Denmark.

Only 18 players have been named to Team USA so far. For those not familiar with international hockey tournaments, this particular one won't be a best-on-best like the 4 Nations Face-Off. The world's best hockey players are currently battling it out for Lord Stanley. Nonetheless, it's still hockey.
Alex Vlasic was on Team USA last year and played eight games and scored two points. Team USA lost to Team Czechia in the quarter-finals, a 1-0 defeat. Team Czechia, the host for last year's tournament, went on to win gold over Team Switzerland. Team Sweden beat Team Canada for third place.
The last time Frank Nazar played on the international stage was for the IIHF 2024 U20 World Juniors. Nazar played in seven games and scored eight points, all assists. Team USA won the first of two back-to-back gold medals that year with David Carle coaching the team to victory.
