Even when people have grown accustomed to doubting them, they always seem to bounce back.

They are the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Following a big 2-1 win over the Boston Bruins, in a game that had the feeling of a playoff atmosphere, the Lightning have won seven of their last eight games. The teams they have been beating have not been slouches, knocking off the New York Rangers, Florida Panthers and Vegas Golden Knights.

Even since the team’s back-to-back Stanley Cups, people have doubted whether or not Tampa can still motor like they used to. With the team losing in the first round last year to the Toronto Maple Leafs, everyone thought the Bolts were going to take a big step back this season. However, the team has rallied, and currently holds the first Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference, and are just two points back of the Leafs for third in the Atlantic Division.

On Thursday’s edition of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk discuss why the Lightning should never be counted out.

Tyler Yaremchuk: You always get that vibe with this Bolts team as they go through the regular season. No matter how hard they struggle, how many injuries they go through, they might just be able to flip the switch when they want to.

Frank Seravalli: It’s almost like that buddy that you see that has a ton of talent just kind of cost through life, but then all of a sudden, when it matters, find a way to be at his very best, and embarrass everyone else. There’s a lot of things to point to. I like that [general manager] Julien Briesbois went out, and didn’t spend a lot, but found a couple of ways to boost his team. They’re efficient, they’ve made simple plays, they found a rhythm.

There are a lot of reasons to be afraid of the Lighting come round one. They just find a way to put it into gear at the right time. They are going to be a tough out regardless.
