With the San Jose Sharks primed to sell off this year, Anthony Duclair could be a trade target for some NHL teams this year.

On the latest edition of Daily Faceoff Live, Frank Seravalli shared his thoughts on what the market could look like for the 28-year-old:

Tyler Yaremchuk: Today in our ASKDFO inbox we got a question asking if there is going to be a market for Anthony Duclair in San Jose.

Frank Seravalli: Yes, I think there is. I think of the Sharks guys that could potentially be on the move and I know a couple of teams have been investigating Mikael Granlund who has some term left on his contract but has played a lot better this season. Duclair season has been very up and down, but of the Sharks players likely to move, he seems much more likely than a guy like Mike Hoffman, who is riding a 27-game goalless drought. Duclair I think people are intrigued by the speed and the hands and I think a change of scenery could be very beneficial for Duclair.

Tyler Yaremchuk: Yeah a $3 million cap hit this year and you’d imagine a contending team would like that a lot more if it was chopped in half but then you mention Granlund, the Sharks really only have one more salary retention spot.

Frank Seravalli: I was going to say they’ve got some big choices to make between Granlund and then if they did that that would probably lock them up from trading Couture or Hertl in the summer. It makes a lot more sense to use a retained slot now on Duclair and try to get a better return and then get one more retained salary spot when the contract expires.
