Analyst Believes Colorado Avalanche Head Coach Jared Bednar's Days With the Team May Be Numbered

Jared Bednar and the Avalanche have fallen short of expectations in recent years, and now, one analyst believes this upcoming season could be his last.

Jared Bednar has been a stellar coach for the Colorado Avalanche, turning them into genuine contenders every year while leading them to their third Stanley Cup back in the 2022 season.

However, since that point the team have failed to replicate their Stanley Cup Playoffs success, and after falling in round one to the Dallas Stars and Mikko Rantanen in 2025, questions have been raised about his future.

To this point, we've heard very little about Bednar's job being in danger, but given the high expectations year after year, to have only one deep Cup run as a group is a major failure on and off the ice for this organization.

Will the Avalanche show loyalty to Bednar if struggles continue?

Now, social media analyst Mike Bartner has made a shock prediction about this team, as he believes that Bednar will be fired as the Avalanche coach following the 2025/26 season, believing that the team are once again unlikely to go deep in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

With a team that once included Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar and Rantanen among others, this team is way too talented to continue falling short the way that they have, and eventually, Bednar is going to have to take the fall for their lack of success.

Ultimately though, the team still have the talent and the ability all over the ice to be genuine contenders in the Western Conference, but with Dallas, Vegas, Edmonton and other teams emerging as threats too, this could be the hottest Bednar's seat has ever been heading into a new season in Colorado.
