Montreal Canadiens defenseman Arber Xhekaj found himself in a bizarre situation on Sunday evening as he tried to fight Sean Couturier of the Philadelphia Flyers.

To set the scene, Couturier hit Kirby Dach in a way that was deemed dirty by a few people on the ice. One of those people, of course, was none other than Xhekaj. He ultimately took exception to what happened and then went after Couturier, as he typically does. Couturier went to drop the gloves, but then something truly bizarre happened.

Nick Seeler rushed into the play and then dropped his gloves in an attempt to fight Xhekaj for Couturier. However, Couturier had already committed to the fight. This made it a third-man-in situation, although Seeler was not punished. Having said that, some fans are now calling for a suspension of some sort. That said, the NHL has always been inconsistent in regards to that kind of thing.

Either way, whenever Xhekaj is involved, you know something bizarre is going to go down. That has been true of anything involving the Habs defenseman for sometime. In fact, this season has been a bit disappointing for him. He has not gotten all that much ice time and fans aren't so sure his future with the team is so bright. However, he does have a lot of defenders out there, so it will be interesting to see how his career progresses, moving forward.
