The Chicago Blackhawks followed up picking defenseman Artyom Levshunov at No. 2 overall with center Sacha Boisvert at pick No. 18. Boisvert had a quality season with the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the USHL in 2023-24.

Boisvert posted 68 points (36 goals, 32 assists) in 61 games with the Lumberjacks in 2023-24. The center has solid size as a 6-foot-2, 183-pound center. The Quebec native will attend the University of North Dakota in the fall, the same program that former Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews played for.
Boisvert does bring a 200-foot game to the Blackhawks as a center, something that others (Connor Bedard, Oliver Moore, Frank Nazar) are still working on improving. Thanks to his solid size and incredible production in the USHL, it will be a fun follow seeing Boisvert develop at the NHL factory that is the University of North Dakota.
Here's what Elite Prospects has to say about Sacha Boisvert:
Boisvert is a goalscorer. A deceptive wrister and powerful one-timer make him a threat from distance, while his net-front skills and off-puck timing drive his in-tight finishing. He can also make just about every pass in the book, easily navigating layers of sticks with slip and saucer passes, even off the backhand. The passing skills appear mostly off the rush, finding cross-ice targets for high-value entries and faking the shot to prepare the cross-slot lane.
The Blackhawks are done in the first round unless they pull off a trade to re-enter the round. On Saturday, the Blackhawks will have six picks, including four in the first two rounds on Saturday. Kyle Davidson will continue to add to his prospect cupboard with his picks on the second day.
