The St. Louis Blues continued to build organizational depth on the blue line, signing defenseman Arseni Koromyslov to a two-year, two-way entry-level contract that will begin with the 2026–27 season.

General manager Doug Armstrong announced the signing as the Blues look to strengthen their pipeline with young, developing talent from overseas. Koromyslov, 22, is coming off a productive season in the Kontinental Hockey League, where he appeared in 61 regular-season games for Traktor Chelyabinsk. He recorded 17 points (one goal, 16 assists) while logging consistent minutes and adding 40 penalty minutes. He also contributed one assist in five playoff games.

The Moscow native has steadily developed over multiple seasons in one of the top professional leagues outside of the NHL. Across 158 career KHL regular-season games, Koromyslov has totaled 32 points (four goals, 28 assists) and 68 penalty minutes, showcasing a reliable, defense-first style with the ability to move the puck effectively.

Originally selected by St. Louis in the fourth round, No. 120 overall, of the 2022 NHL Draft, Koromyslov has remained on the organization’s radar as a long-term project. His continued growth in Russia has positioned him as a potential contributor in North America.

While he is not expected to make an immediate NHL impact, the signing reflects the Blues’ commitment to developing young defensemen. Koromyslov will likely compete for ice time at the AHL level upon arrival, with an opportunity to earn a larger role as he adjusts to the North American game.
