Blues Recall Dylan Peterson, Place Dillon Dube On IR

With Dillon Dube out for at least two months due to a neck injury, it was only a matter of time before the Blues brought someone up to take his place.  That move was made rather quickly as the team announced yesterday that they’ve placed Dube on IR and recalled forward Dylan Peterson from AHL Springfield.

It’s the first recall in nearly two years for the 24-year-old, who has yet to make his NHL debut.  That said, given Dube’s timeline for recovery, it stands to reason that Peterson will have a good chance to change that before long.

St. Louis drafted Peterson in the third round back in 2020, right before he made the jump to Boston University to start his college career.  He spent all four seasons there with his best point total coming in his final year in 2023-24 when he had 20 points in 35 games.

The production hasn’t ticked up just yet in the minors.  Peterson had 13 goals and nine assists in 52 games in his first full professional year in 2024-25 and had a similar showing last season with 12 goals and 12 helpers in 57 contests.  He’s still looking for his first point of the season with the Thunderbirds although he has already amassed 19 penalty minutes.

Peterson is playing on a one-year, two-way deal this season worth $850K in the NHL and $125K in the minors.  He’s slated to become a Group Six unrestricted free agent next summer.
