The St. Louis Blues have signed right winger Dylan Holloway to a five-year contract extension, the team announced Friday afternoon, with the deal set to kick in for the 2026-27 NHL season.
According to a report from Jeremy Turherford of The Athletic, the new contract carries an average annual value of $7.75 million, for a total of $38.75 million over the five years, bringing him to the end of the 2030-31 season. Before signing the deal, Holloway was set to hit restricted free agency this summer and would have carried arbitration rights.
This past season, the native of Calgary netted 22 goals and 51 points in 59 regular-season games, building on a 26-goal and 63-point campaign through 77 games in the 2024-25 season, establishing himself as a consistent top-six option for the Blues, even as they prepare to transition from Doug Armstrong’s general manager tenure to Alex Steen’s on July 1.
The No. 14 overall draft pick by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2020 NHL Draft, Holloway joined the Blues on an offer sheet contract in August of 2024, alongside Philip Broberg, in a seldom-used player acquisition tactic in the NHL.
That initial deal carried an average annual value of $2.29 million and a total of $4.58 million, which the Oilers were unable to match, leading the Blues to send a third-round pick to Edmonton as compensation for Holloway’s services.
In total, the now 24-year-old has appeared in 225 NHL regular-season games, scoring 57 goals and 75 assists for 132 points, while also posting five goals and two assists in 26 career appearances in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Blues missed out on the 2026 postseason after qualifying in 2025, but will lean on Holloway and other key stars to continue building towards a brighter future, starting with the 2026-27 season in the fall.
