Blues’ Standouts of the Week: Thomas, Snuggerud, and Holloway
St. Louis Blues Standouts of the Week

The St. Louis Blues entered last week still in playoff contention. Unfortunately, a 2-2-0 week was not enough to keep them in the hunt headed into the final week. The Blues were eliminated from playoff contention on Saturday, meaning their season will conclude this coming week.

Before we look at the week ahead, we will take a look at the standout Blues from last week.

Standout #3 – Dylan Holloway

Before the Olympic break, Dylan Holloway had only scored eight goals. Injuries played a role in that ineffectiveness, but it was still a disappointing result following his outstanding first season in St. Louis.

Since returning from the Olympics, the Alberta native has scored 12 goals, helping the team remain in playoff contention. He has also recorded 17 assists. This past week showcased Holloway’s ability to pass the puck, as he recorded five assists and one goal. Of the 11 goals the Blues scored, Holloway played a role in six of them.

Standout #2 – Jimmy Snuggerud

Like Holloway, Jimmy Snuggerud showcased his ability to pass the puck this past week. He recorded four assists, including three in Sunday’s dramatic win over the Colorado Avalanche. His strong skating and puck-handling ability created the game-winning goal by Robert Thomas in the final minutes.

His goal on Saturday gives him 18 on the season. He is on the verge of scoring 20 goals, a mark he reached in all three of his seasons at the University of Minnesota.

Snuggerud’s performance while the Blues have been in playoff contention is a strong indication that he is inching towards becoming an elite player in the NHL. After some experience last season, including the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Snuggerud is showing growth and effectiveness, a great sign for a Blues team looking to write the next chapter in franchise history.

Standout #1 – Robert Thomas

Speaking of Thomas, what a week he had! He started with an epic performance on Easter Sunday. Thomas scored all three Blues’ goals to lead them to victory over the Avalanche. The Avalanche are not an easy team to beat, especially at home. Yet Thomas found a way to will the team to what may have been their biggest win of the season.

Like Holloway, this season has not been all sunshine and lollipops for Thomas. After just 11 goals from October-January, Thomas has scored 11 goals in about a month and a half. His season numbers are going to be close to his usual totals, although another 60 assists will not happen.

During the trade deadline, Thomas emerged as a player in trade rumors. For a team rebuilding, trading him may have made sense in the right deal. After his performance since March, especially this week, Thomas is someone the Blues should hang onto. In fact, he may be the frontrunner at the moment to be the next captain.

The Week Ahead: The Final Games

The Blues have nothing but pride to play for in their final week. They have three games to play. They will play their final two home games on Monday and Tuesday before heading west to face the Utah Mammoth to put a bow on the 2025-26 season.

For Blues fans headed to either or both of the last two home games, be loud and cheer for a team that refused to give up. Be loud for the general manager, soon to step down, who built the 2019 Stanley Cup-winning team. When Jordan Binnington hits the ice, be loud for him, as these could be his final days wearing the Blue Note.

Together, whether at the game, at home, or anywhere else, let us all bleed blue this week before the page turns to the 2026-27 season.
