It has been announced that former Boston Bruins player Dwight Foster unfortunately passed away, but it did not state the cause of death.

Foster was originally drafted by the Boston Bruins in the 1977 NHL Amateur Draft, and he would play his first four years with the Boston Bruins before going to the Colorado Rockies.

Boston Bruins Alumni on X had released a statement following the news of Foster passing away.

We were devastated and saddened to hear of the passing of Dwight Foster at the age of 67.

Dwight was beloved and highly respected by his teammates, and he will be missed by the entire Bruins family.

A #1 draft pick of the Bruins in 1977, Dwight had two stints with the B's in the 70s and 80s. In total he played 541 NHL games with Boston, Detroit, New Jersey and the Colorado Rockies.

More importantly, he was a first-class guy with a kind heart.

We send our sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.

Not long after, the Boston Bruins X would also release an emotional statement after finding out about the unfortunate news.

May he rest in peace.
