The Boston Bruins moved on from captain Brad Marchand at the deadline, and now they've revealed how they'll replace him moving forward in 2025-26.

This past season was a whirlwind for the Boston Bruins, as the team came into the year with Stanley Cup expectations, but after struggling early, they ended up moving some key pieces, including captain Brad Marchand.

That has left the team without a captain after going from Zdeno Chara to Patrice Bergeron and eventually to Marchand, with many expecting that either Charlie McAvoy or David Pastrnak would be the ones to take on the role.

However, new head coach Marco Sturm recently commented that the team could go into the new season without a "C." Now, recent photos have revealed that's exactly what they are planning to do.

In the announcement of their new jerseys, photos were shown of both Pastrnak and McAvoy wearing "A's" on their jersey, which likely means that the team will go without a captain and figure it out as the year goes on.

If the Bruins struggle, they may even look to move on from one of their veterans, and if that's the case, it's certainly wise for the team to not trade another captain in the process.

With so much uncertainty around the future of this team given its need for young talent coming through the organization, it's the right move for the Bruins to simply wait and see how things play out. But given what both McAvoy and Pastrnak have done for the Bruins in their careers thus far, one of them could end up being named the new captain of the team.
