Brad Marchand and the Florida Panthers went back-to-back in 2025, but now Brad Marchand has been called out on social media for his bizarre comments.
After being acquired at the 2025 trade deadline, Brad Marchand played a huge role for the Florida Panthers in winning the Stanley Cup, scoring six goals in an iconic Finals series, with many believing he would have been a deserving Conn Smythe winner.
Following the series clinching Game 6, Marchand was full of emotions, having this to say about this Panthers squad and what they went through to go back-to-back in 2025.
'Everybody wrote us off ... we knew we had something special.'
While it's true that this team had something special, to say everyone wrote off the defending Stanley Cup Champions and one of the deepest teams we've ever seen is just nonsense, and rightfully so he was called out on social media for his delusional comments.
For the most part this season, Marchand has done a lot to win over fans of not only the Panthers but neutral teams as well, as he played with heart in the biggest moments and came up clutch time and time again for the Panthers, but it's safe to say that he was off here.
Sure, not everyone at the start of the year picked the Panthers to win the Stanley Cup, but when it came down too it, most realized just how good this team is, and in the end, they were favoured in this series.
People may not have been prepared for how dominant this series ended up in Florida, but ultimately, this is one of the best teams in the modern NHL, and if they can keep Sam Bennett and/or Marchand next year, there's no reason why they can't do it again.
