Tuesday night featured one of the most anticipated storylines on the NHL calendar this season as Brad Marchand made his return to the TD Garden in Boston to face his former team in the Bruins for the first time since getting dealt to the Florida Panthers last year.
The 2011 Stanley Cup champion with the Bruins earned his second ring with the Panthers last year, and he chose to sign what will very likely be the last contract of his career to stay in Florida for the long haul.
The Bruins did a phenomenal job in welcoming back one of the true legends of their franchise, and Marchand picked up two assists as he helped the Panthers improve to 4-4-0 with a 4-3 win over Boston.

On Wednesday’s episode of Daily Faceoff LIVE, host Irfaan Gaffar and co-host and former NHL defenseman Colby Cohen discussed
Irfaan Gaffar: You look at that return to Boston… you couldn’t help but just get chills. I think watching the video… you just look at the standing ovation, and he started to cry. The cheers got louder, and how much he meant to that organization, and I know you were there when he was there, so take me through the Brad Marchand experience in Boston.
Colby Cohen: It was really cool watching this video take place and seeing some of the memories that I was there for… and look, when I got traded to the Bruins, Marchy was playing on the fourth line for Claude Julien. This is not a guy who was handed a first-line spot and a power play spot. He had to come into this league by doing it the hard way… he turned himself into a Hall-of-Famer. I love the way the Bruins fans embraced him coming home. He is a Boston Bruin at heart, and no matter how long he plays for this Florida Panthers team, this is a guy who will be a Bruin forever.
