The 2026-27 NHL regular-season schedule dropped on July 16 and there’s no shortage of intrigue and interest in the slate of games the Winnipeg Jets will play as they attempt to get back to soaring altitude after a highly-disappointing 2025-26.

Here. we’ll dive the Jets’ schedule — 84 games as opposed to 82 for the first time since 1993-94 — and its most notable dates and elements.
The Jets will open their season at home on Oct. 2 when they host the Boston Bruins at Canada Life Centre.
It’s just a one-game stay, though, as they then hit the road for two more contests versus Eastern Conference opponents in Detroit and Pittsburgh.
Three four-game road trips tie for the Jets’ longest (Oct. 29 to Nov. 3, Jan. 28 to Feb. 3, and March 27 to April 5). They’ll play six-straight road games between Jan. 28 and Feb. 15, but NHL All-Star break falls between games four and five of that stretch.
The Jets’ longest home stand is from March 1 to 13, when they’ll play six straight at Canada Life Centre.
The Jets will clash with Central Division opponents 28 times this season as all teams’ two additional games this season are divisional. They’ll face the Chicago Blackhawks, Colorado Avalanche, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, St. Louis Blues, Nashville Predators, and Utah Mammoth four times each, twice at home and twice on the road.
Despite the down 2025-26, the Jets still did alright versus their Divisional compatriots, posting a 12-10-4 record. However, it represented a downturn from the Presidents’ Trophy-winning 2024-25 (19-7-0) and 2023-24 (20-5-1).
The Jets have nine sets of back-to-back games, just as they did last season. Six sets are consecutive games as the away team, two sets are split between home and away, and one set is consecutive games as the home team.
Inexplicably, the Jets lost eight of nine first halves last season, but won seven of nine second halves.
The Jets will be busiest once winter begins to set in around Winnipeg and it starts to feel like “hockey weather:” they play 15 games in November and have just two instances of consecutive days off.
The Jets have 15 “one anthem” games this season, eight in Winnipeg and seven on the road. They host the Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks twice each and the Edmonton Oilers, Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs once.
Of course, the game against the Canadiens is the 2026 Heritage Classic, taking place at Princess Auto Stadium on Oct. 25.
