Halloween is here, which means it’s time to match some current Flames with their Halloween monster counterparts.

Yegor Sharangovich – The Invisible Man

The Invisible Man is completely undetectable and moves around without leaving a trace. Much like Yegor Sharangovich, who can play entire games without anyone noticing his presence. He disappears for long stretches of the season, leaving Flames fans to wonder if he’s ever really out there.

Jake Middleton – Jason Voorhees

Jason Voorhees is Halloween’s eternal villain. No matter how hard his victims try to get rid of him, he just won’t go away. He’s starred in a total of 12 films, and every time you think it can’t possibly get worse, he shows up again. Jake Middleton holds a similar role in the Flames lineup, as he continues to show up despite multiple scary performances.

Morgan Frost – Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

With Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, you never know what you’re going to get. One night he’s a terrifying monster, the next he’s practically invisible. Much like Morgan Frost, who can appear effective and integral to the team one night, and completely ineffective the next. You never know which version you’ll get.

Ryan Huska – Pennywise

Pennywise lures unsuspecting youngsters into the sewer before revealing his true intentions. Much like Ryan Huska, who is prone to luring young NHL talent into his system before devouring their creativity.

Dustin Wolf – Werewolf

Much like a Werewolf, Dustin Wolf comes out at night and transforms into a beast, crushing his opposition and impacting the game with a ferocious mentality. Unfortunately, we haven’t had a full moon so far this season.

Mikael Backlund – Michael Myers

Cold, methodical and mostly emotionless in his approach. Much like Michael Myers, Mikael Backlund keeps his emotions in check as a quiet leader. A veteran of the game who’s been around forever. Despite never claiming the ultimate prize, he keeps coming back for more, just like Michael Myers.

Sam Honzek – The Mummy

The mummy is, of course, famously held together and wrapped head to toe in bandages. When he’s put together, he can be a force to be reckoned with, but it doesn’t take much to unravel him. Much like Sam Honzek, whose injury history and durability have the former first-round pick held together with a band-aid and falling apart most of the time.

Adam Klapka – Frankenstein’s Monster

The gentle giant who can get mean if he has to, Adam Klapka looks like Frankenstein’s monster most nights. As MacKenzie Weegar once put it, he’s a “big mutant”.
