The St. Louis Blues picked up Cam Fowler earlier this past season, and after a fantastic year with them, he's made it clear that he wants to return.
While the St. Louis Blues didn't get off to the best start in 2025, they got red-hot at the end of the season and went on a run that saw them capture the final spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and although they ultimately fell in round one, this was a successful year for the team.
One move that went highly underrated by General Manager Doug Armstrong with this team was the move to acquire Cam Fowler from the Anaheim Ducks, as the 33-year old would prove to be a fantastic addition for the Blues.
In 51 games played with them, Fowler tallied 9 goals and 36 points, and with a +19 differential, it's safe to say that it was one of the best trades made by a team through the 2024/25 season, with the 33-year old thriving in his first season away from the Ducks in his NHL career.
Now, many have wondered what the future holds for Fowler, and when he was recently asked about signing a potential extension with the team, he made it clear that he'd love to stay.
'Yeah, absolutely. Those decisions and those conversations will have to be something that we go through over the summer with Doug Armstsrong and the whole group here, but I would love to be around as long as they'd like me here.'
It's unclear what the market would be for Fowler, so the likelihood of him at least testing free agency is high, but with the Blues needing a veteran presence on their blue line, it only makes sense for both parties to stay together, so don't be shocked to see a deal quickly signed early in the off-season.
