Team Canada revealed its mens ice hockey roster for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina on Wednesday, as the birthplace of hockey looks to maintain its status atop the international landscape with Olympic gold.
In February, Canada defeated the United States in the championship game of the 4 Nations Face-Off event in the long-awaited return of best-on-best international hockey.

Given that win, it was expected that the roster for Milan would look largely similar to the one from 4 Nations, and that’s exactly the route Hockey Canada brass took. Six initial players were named to the team in June including captain Sidney Crosby, fellow forwards Connor McDavid, Brayden Point, Nathan MacKinnon and Sam Reinhart, as well as defenseman Cale Makar.
Here’s the group that general manager Doug Armstrong and his team settled on after a months-long process of scouting and consideration:
Forwards: Macklin Celebrini, Anthony Cirelli, Sidney Crosby, Brandon Hagel, Bo Horvat, Nathan MacKinnon, Brad Marchand, Connor McDavid, Brayden Point, Sam Reinhart, Mark Stone, Nick Suzuki, Tom Wilson
Defensemen: Drew Doughty, Thomas Harley, Cale Makar, Josh Morrissey, Colton Parayko, Travis Sanheim, Shea Theodore, Devon Toews
Goalies: Jordan Binnington, Darcy Kuemper, Logan Thompson
The 2026 Games will mark the first of the event in which NHL players have participated since 2014 in Sochi, when Canada captured the gold with a win over Sweden. The Canadians were also the victors in 2010 in Vancouver after an overtime thriller against the United States.
In the absence of NHL participation, Finland claimed the gold medal in 2022 while the Olympic Athletes from Russia won in 2018.
Team Canada’s schedule for its group stage games is as follows:
The qualification round will take place on February 17 followed by the quarterfinals on February 18. There will then be a rest day before the semifinals on February 20. The bronze medal game will be held on February 21, and the gold medal game will take place on February 22.
