Sidney Crosby to Montreal has been a pipe dream for Canadiens fans, and now, a top insider has addressed the possibility he could leave the Penguins to head north.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have been lucky enough to be led by Sidney Crosby for the past two decades, and now, many believe he's set to end his career with the only team he's ever known in the NHL.

Despite this belief, some out there see a world in which the Penguins captain could look to move on and chase one final Stanley Cup, with the Montreal Canadiens being a potential landing spot for the 37-year old star.

That was a topic recently discussed by insider Eric Engels, and while he called it a pure fantasy, he addressed the possibility, noting that there would be just a few people who know of Crosby's true intentions moving forward.

"I'd imagine there's less than a handful of people who know how he'd truly feel about coming to Montreal, if it were to change."

In that hypothetical however, Engels argues that the Canadiens are better suited to land Crosby than any other team in the NHL, suggesting that they could leverage some of their first-round picks and even top NHL ready prospects to lure Crosby to Montreal.

This was a situation that Engels talked about recently on his podcast as well, and in that situation, he predicted that even with Montreal's best offer, this remains a pipe dream.

'What's NOT going to happen is Sidney Crosby says he's willing to come and the Canadiens are giving up 3 1st round picks and Michael Hage. You can forget that, but also forget about Crosby. Crosby is a pipe dream'

Ultimately, as Engels repeats throughout his look into this possibility, it's purely a hypothetical fantasy situation, with Crosby highly unlikely to ever leave the Pittsburgh Penguins,
