Canadiens make key change and reveal Patrik Laine's status for game vs. Flames

We have two announcements for you from the Montreal Canadiens, just hours before Saturday night's game against the Calgary Flames.

First, regarding Patrik Laine

He suddenly missed Friday's practice, which caused quite a stir on social media before the Canadiens announced that Laine was dealing with mild flu-like symptoms.

In short, just minutes ago, the Habs made a new announcement about him.

As reported by Canadiens journalist Arpon Basu, Laine will be a game-time decision:

"Jakub Dobes in goal tonight for the Canadiens in Calgary. Patrik Laine, fighting a bug, is a game time decision."

So, we have the announcement regarding Laine, along with confirmation of a change in net.

Samuel Montembeault will make way for young Jakub Dobes.

At 23 years old, 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds, Dobes has a record of 6-2-1 this season, with a goals-against average of 2.63 and a save percentage of .909.

At 28 years old, 6-foot-3 and 218 pounds, Montembeault has a record of 22-21-3 this season, with a goals-against average of 2.89 and a save percentage of .900.
