If you’ve been watching the Montreal Canadiens this season, there’s one name that keeps jumping off the scoresheet: Juraj Slafkovský. The kid is 20, and yet he’s already putting up numbers that make you sit back and say that this youngster is for real.

Through 62 games this season, Slafkovský has racked up a career-high 52 points, including 23 goals, 11 of them on the power play. He’s also tied for 20 power-play points. That alone would make him the talk of the locker room. But here’s what’s even better: he’s now the first player in Canadiens history with three 50-point seasons before turning 22. That’s not luck. That’s consistency. That’s talent. That’s a future cornerstone.

Slafkovský Has Been Heating Up Since the Olympics.

Even after an Olympic break, Slafkovský hasn’t missed a beat. In five games since returning from Milan-Cortina, he’s put up seven points (two goals, five assists), including three on the power play. He seems to be carrying the momentum of being tied for second in Olympic goals, fourth in points, and second in shots on goal during the tournament. The young Canadiens’ player knows how to keep rolling, and he’s not letting a little international travel slow him down.

Slafkovský Benefits from Being on the First Line With Suzuki and Caufield.

Since being promoted to the first line alongside Nick Suzuki (74 points; tied for 10th in the NHL) and Cole Caufield (37 goals; second in the NHL), Slafkovský has five points in two games. The chemistry is already there. He’s showing that he can handle the speed, skill, and pressure of top-line minutes without missing a beat.

Why Slafkovský Is Going to Be a Keeper for This Montreal Team.

Numbers tell part of the story. NHL EDGE stats paint an even clearer picture: Slafkovský ranks in the 90th percentile in midrange goals, high-danger goals, shots on goal, and skating speed. He’s logging big distances on the ice and can blow past defenders when he wants. Put it all together, and you’ve got a winger who can score from everywhere, skate like a maniac, and sustain that kind of game night after night.

At 20 years old, Slafkovský is already the kind of player you build around. He’s not a flash in the pan. He’s not just another young player with potential. He’s already delivering at an elite level, and Canadiens fans should be buzzing. Keep your eyes on him—this kid is just getting started.
