It’s the latest change to the Canucks franchise that fired general manager Patrik Allvin in April. President of hockey operations Jim Rutherford announced he would step down from his role just a few weeks later. The team finished dead last in the NHL with a 25-49-8 record.
The Canucks also announced the hiring of Hall of Fame forwards Henrik and Daniel Sedin as co-presidents of hockey operations, and named former teammate Ryan Johnson the new general manager.
Vancouver is now searching for its fifth head coach since December 2021.
