The Vancouver Canucks have fired head coach Adam Foote after just one season, the team announced on Tuesday. They also fired assistant coaches Scott Young, Kevin Dean, and Brett McLean.

It’s the latest change to the Canucks franchise that fired general manager Patrik Allvin in April. President of hockey operations Jim Rutherford announced he would step down from his role just a few weeks later. The team finished dead last in the NHL with a 25-49-8 record.

The Canucks also announced the hiring of Hall of Fame forwards Henrik and Daniel Sedin as co-presidents of hockey operations, and named former teammate Ryan Johnson the new general manager.

Vancouver is now searching for its fifth head coach since December 2021.
