Robby Fabbri has put together a very solid career at the NHL level, and now with no contract, he's been linked to the Canucks as a potential PTO option.

The Vancouver Canucks have been very active this off-season, and with the team hoping to move on from the drama that surrounded the 2024/25 season, hopes are very high.

However, there's still room for improvement for this roster, and whether that comes via trade, free agency or through the organization itself, there are plenty of changes that this team can make to become a genuine threat in the Pacific Division.

Vancouver linked to former Stanley Cup Champ through a PTO

Recently, The Hockey News were looking into additions the Canucks could make, naming former Stanley Cup Champion Robby Fabbri as a name the team could take a chance on.

A benefit of bringing in Fabbri on a PTO is that it adds another layer of competition in camp. The now-former Ducks center has played 442 regular-season games and won the Stanley Cup with the St. Louis Blues in 2019. Fabbri also has a connection with Vancouver, as Todd Harvey, who is currently the organization's Director of Amateur Scouting, was his assistant coach during his time in the OHL with the Guelph Storm.

The 29-year old veteran centre won the Stanley Cup back in 2019 with the St. Louis Blues, and since that point he's had two new homes in the NHL, playing for Detroit and last season with the Anaheim Ducks.

Throughout his career thus far, Fabbri has tallied 106 goals and 216 points in 442 NHL games, and while he's not been a star and likely won't be at this point, he's a very solid depth piece that could play a role on the third or fourth line.

In Vancouver, the biggest issue for the team is their centre depth beyond Filip Chytil and Elias Pettersson, and if they want to remedy that, adding Fabbri on a PTO to give him a shot to earn a spot in the pre-season would be a fantastic move for them.
