The Dallas Stars have done a good job building hockey in Texas, but now, hundreds of people are speaking out against the monopoly they've got on youth hockey.

When the Minnesota North Stars were moved to Dallas, many wondered whether or not hockey would work in Dallas, but since that time, the organization have done a good job remaining relevant in an area dominated by football and basketball.

That includes at the youth level, with youth participation in Texas sky rocketing in the Stars time, but now, it appears as though there are some shady business practices going on, with hundreds of parents now talking out via a USA Today piece about what is really happening.

According to the parents in the video, the Stars control the majority of the ice in the Dallas area, meaning that these families trying to push their children into hockey are at the mercy of the team, and if they speak out, there will be retaliation against them.

That even includes threatening one mother in an organization who wanted to move on from coaches after several complaints from families, before a member of the Stars front office got involved, threatening that if they moved on from the coaches, they would need to pay for the ice, a move that would cost the team $70,000-100,000 a season.

As a result, one parent began a Texas Hockey Parents group on social media where they could express frustration and gather their ideas in one place, before revealing that she was threatened by several people from the Stars for some of the posts that were taking place in the group, including the threat of expelling her son from travel hockey if she did not quit posting in there.

Ultimately, there were many stories involved of the Stars clearly choosing financial gain over trying to positively grow the game at a youth level in Texas, and as this story grows, it continues to look worse and worse for the organization.
