The Chicago Blackhawks organization has made many changes in recent years, but now, they've made the shock move to fire a staff member that's been there since 2008.
Just a few short years ago, the Chicago Blackhawks were coming off one of the best dynasties in modern hockey, but now, things have turned around completely as this team looks to continue their rebuild, led by Connor Bedard and General Manager Kyle Davidson.
Now, the organization has made a shock decision, as it was announced that they are parting ways with a veteran staffer that joined the team way back in 2008 before their Patrick Kane/Jonathan Toews led dynasty began, becoming one of their longest tenured employees throughout that time.
That staffer is conditioning coach Paul Goodman, who has been there through the good, the bad and the ugly in Chicago, and while it's unclear exactly why he'd been moved on, it's certainly a shock decision from the Blackhawks.
This is just yet another move as they look to overhaul their organization, with Kyle Davidson putting his mark on the franchise, and with another top pick in the 2025 NHL Draft ahead, there's a chance for them to continue growing this team as the rebuild moves on.
Ultimately, we may never know why Goodman was moved on, or whether or not it was his decision to leave the Blackhawks after 17 years, but it's now been made official, and as the team looks to bring in a new Head Coach this summer, it's more likely than not that whoever that may be will want to implement his own staff to lead the team into the future.
