'Cole Caufield is definitely injured'

Do you know many players who are 100% physically fit during the playoffs? Me neither.

And listening to Georges Laraque, who discussed Cole Caufield's struggles this afternoon on BPM Sports, it's clear that this could explain his recent performances… because the reason isn't that he suddenly became timid overnight.

In his view, it's clear: you can tell he's injured. That's for sure, he said.

Because Caufield, who has always produced in the past, isn't going into the corners like he used to, it's clear to the former Habs player that #13 is currently injured.

Going into the corners all year long—that really takes a toll on a guy.

We agree that if Caufield is injured, that would explain a lot. After all, the guy didn't become timid and useless on the ice for no reason.

Does that explain it?

It's also important to remember that yesterday, the 51-goal scorer played only 13 minutes. That's very little for a player of his stature… even if the Habs were playing to preserve their lead late in the game.

Georges wants to encourage the fans at the Bell Centre tomorrow to show some love to Caufield, who clearly doesn't have the same spark in the playoffs compared to the regular season.

Caufield's line isn't clicking at five-on-five. With Juraj Slafkovsky getting hurt several times during the first five games against the Lightning, the top line clearly looks battered.

It's not ideal, let's say.

– Remember that #13 is nominated for the Lady Byng Trophy, awarded to the most gentlemanly player.
