Corey Perry Mocks Dallas Stars Rookie After He Refused to Fight

At the end of the Stars-Oilers game last night, Corey Perry began to mock Lian Bichsel after he turtled instead of engaging in a fight with the veteran.

The Edmonton Oilers may have dropped Game 1 of the Western Conference Final to the Dallas Stars, but Corey Perry hasn't lost his touch when it comes to stirring the pot.

Edmonton was positioned well for a strong series start, leading 3-1 going into the third.

But it all unraveled as the Stars responded with five consecutive goals, three of them with the man advantage in the opening 10 minutes, to complete a 6-3 comeback win.

Emotions carried over to the final buzzer. During the course of several scuffles, Perry was right in the middle of it, trying to goad Dallas rookie Lian Bichsel into a fight.

It appeared that the Stars rookie got scared and turtled in front of Perry

Instead of accommodating him, the 21-year-old defenseman turtled, prompting Perry to taunt him as officials stepped in.

Playoff performer Perry, who has been a steady producer this postseason with five goals and seven points in 12 games, was not at his best in Game 1, as he took a third-period penalty that led to the tying goal by the Stars.

This isn't the first time Perry has used mind games in the playoffs. In last year's series against Vancouver, he pretended to hold his stick in Brock Boeser's face during a scrum so that he wouldn't jump in.

A 227-game playoff veteran, Perry understands that one game does not define a series. As tough as the collapse was to stomach, the Oilers have been resilient all year.

They'll attempt to bounce back in Game 2 on Friday evening before the series shifts back to Edmonton.
