Miro Heiskanen and Julia Taka-Aho tie the knot in a private ceremony filled with Stars teammates and NHL friends

Miro Heiskanen has already built a strong legacy on the ice in Dallas, but this weekend, his biggest moment happened far from the rink.

The 26-year-old Dallas Stars defenseman married longtime partner Julia Taka-Aho on Friday in what looked like an elegant and emotional celebration.

The event was shared with fans thanks to Instagram posts from Julie Hemsky, wife of former Stars forward Ales Hemsky, who captured the mood with smiles, hugs, and a few surprise appearances.

Stars teammates, NHL friends and Finnish pride highlight Heiskanen's wedding weekend

Photos revealed a strong Dallas Stars presence, with captain Jamie Benn, Radek Faksa, and Finnish forward Mikko Rantanen all spotted at the venue.

Former teammate and close friend John Klingberg also made the trip, sharing a table with several current Stars.

Julia and Miro already share one recent major milestone, becoming parents.

Back in February 2024, Heiskanen missed a regular-season game to be with Julia for the birth of their child.

Now, just months later, they've celebrated another life moment together surrounded by family, teammates, and their Finnish roots.

Heiskanen was originally selected third overall by Dallas in the 2017 NHL Draft and debuted in the 2018-19 season.

Since then, he's become a key piece of the franchise, earning two top 10 Norris Trophy finishes and anchoring the blue line for playoff runs like the one this past May against Winnipeg.

Though injuries slowed him in 2024-25, he remains one of the league's most consistent and impactful defencemen.

This summer, however, the biggest win wasn't on the scoresheet, it came with a ring.
