Detroit Red Wings Linked to New York Islanders Defenseman

The Detroit Red Wings have played a major role in nearly every aspect of this free agency. Reports last week suggested they were pursuing a goalie. Today, Bob Duff of Detroit Hockey Now reported the Red Wings have inquired about New York Islanders defenseman Noah Dobson. Dobson is a restricted free agent. Duff said that the reported offer for Dobson includes J.T. Compher, Jonatan Berggren, and draft picks being part of the discussion. I’m not a fan of moving Berggren despite the Red Wings needing blue-line help. One other name to watch for the Red Wings this offseason is Patrick Kane, as both sides want a reunion for the third time. Kane has said he’d like to finish his career as a Red Wing. Multiple teams have shown interest in Dobson, making him a name to watch.
