The Detroit Red Wings wrap up their preseason schedule tomorrow against the Toronto Maple Leafs. They will play that game without three players as they’ve assigned forward Carter Mazur, defenseman William Wallinder, and goalie Michal Postava to their AHL affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins. They now have 14 forwards, nine defenseman, and two goalies on the current roster.

Mazur played in four preseason games, scoring a goal and was a minus-one. He made his NHL debut last season but suffered an injury. In 20 games with the Griffins, he had 15 points on eight goals and seven assists. He was a minus-two with two power-play goals and a shorthanded goal. Mazur, in 86 games at Grand Rapids in his young career, has 58 points on 28 goals and 30 assists. He is a minus-six with two power-play goals and a shorthanded goal.
Wallinder played in four preseason games, recording two assists; he was a plus-one. In 62 games for the Griffins, had 19 points on two goals and 17 assists; he was a minus-four. In three seasons in Grand Rapids he’s played in 128 games, recording 34 points on five goals and 29 assists. He is a minus-ten.
Postava appeared in two preseason games going 0-1-0 with a 4.62 goals-against average and a .875 save percentage. He played in 42 games with HC Kometa Brno in Czechia. He went 23-18-0 with a 2.39 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage.
