The NHL is introducing a new jersey series for 2026-27, entitled 'Hometown Remix." As the NHL states, the program is designed to "uniquely [and] authentically celebrates fans, city, [and] local culture of each team."

To date, the New Jersey Devils have released snippets of their prospective jerseys, thus far including a teaser with a Caesar cipher code that hinted at the jerseys being tied to the song The Black Parade by My Chemical Romance, an uber-popular band that originated in none other than Newark, New Jersey. Most assumed this directly hinted at the possibility of the Devils getting a predominantly black jersey.

The team has since released a video of the players expressing excitement about the new jerseys, with individuals describing them as "clean" and "intimidating," and Jake Allen noting that the design was simple but had "some pop." Early speculation suggested it was a reversed version of the 2024 Stadium Series jerseys, a fan favorite that could be described with any of the adjectives above.

On Friday, the Devils released the official schedule of when the Devils will be wearing the Hometown Remix jerseys, with a note that said this was all the fanbase gets "until Monday."

New Jersey will be debuting the Hometown Remix on November 18th against the Montreal Canadiens, before wearing them again on both halves of a back-to-back on the 27th and 28th of the same month. One of the Devils' three December affairs against the New York Rangers (the 15th) will feature the garb, and they'll be wearing it two days later against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Devils will have another five games wearing the jerseys once the calendar flips to 2027. In January, they will play the Islanders on the 15th and the Stars on the 19th with the Hometown Remix gear on. February only features one such case, which will occur on the first meeting between New Jersey and division rival Carolina Hurricanes on the 23rd. To round out the series appearances, the Devils will wear the jerseys on March 23rd and 29th, against the Flyers and Hurricanes, respectively.

For now, this is all we get in terms of the Hometown Remix jerseys, but from what it sounds like, fans will be pleased by what they see on Monday.
