Former Hockey Night in Canada host Don Cherry, an iconic figure on Canadian television for decades, is breaking his silence over his former co-host Ron MacLean.

Former Hockey Night in Canada host Don Cherry, who was infamously let go from Sportsnet in 2019 after his controversial 'you people' comments, is breaking his silence on recent words from his former co-host, Ron MacLean.

MacLean had recently claimed that Cherry's infamous 'you people' comments in 2019 that resulted in his firing could have been a strategy on his part to leave the network, while also implying that Cherry had been experiencing health issues.

It was a bit clumsy, but it was the right outcome. Ultimately, that's what needed to happen. It was liberating. Don needed out and the time was right. (Remembrance Day) was his last swing, taking a stance that's unpopular, but that feels good in his world.

Now, Cherry is responding by expressing his disappointment in MacLean.

I'm very disappointed in Ron that he would bring this up. I'm very disappointed in him that he would reach back 5 years and do this.

Cherry then said that to his wife, MacLean isn't welcome in their home.

To the wife, he isn't.

I don't have any feelings. I don't have any feelings towards Ron.

Not long after his departure from Sportsnet, Cherry routinely hosted his 'Grapevine' podcast, which recently wrapped up after hundreds of episodes.

Cherry is now 91 years old, but still holds a special place in the hearts of many Canadian hockey fans everywhere.
