EA’s NHL 25 Reveals Devils Jack Hughes & Luke Hughes on Cover
John Jones-USA TODAY Sports

When it comes to EA Sports, it’s in the game. But this year, on the cover is New Jersey Devils brothers, Jack Hughes and Luke Hughes. Eldest brother, Quinn, rounds out the first-ever — non-exclusive — brothers cover for the franchise.

The only other time EA Sports featured brothers on one of their NHL covers was in 2011, when Henrik and Daniel Sedin were printed on exclusive, limited Vancouver copies of the game.

Last year, NHL 24’s cover featured Colorado Avalanche superstar defenseman Cale Makar.

EA Sports accidentally leaked the reveal trailer for NHL 25 which primarily featured the Hughes brothers, which caused many to speculate the trio of NHL stars would be featured on the cover of the newest game.

That speculation was confirmed this morning by EA Sports.

Despite the Devils regressing in the 2023-24 season, Jack Hughes was named an All-Star — although he did not participate in the game due to injury. He remained co-captains with brother Quinn, and drafted fellow Devils forward Jesper Bratt for the Hughes All-Star team.

Hughes was well on his way to a potential 2023-24 Hart Trophy campaign before injury. When shoulder surgery ended his season, Hughes finished the year scoring 27 goals and 74 points in 62 games.

Luke Hughes completed his first NHL campaign, finishing last season as one of the top-three rookies in the entire NHL. Luke registered nine goals and 47 points in 82 games and was named to the 2023-24 NHL All-Rookie Team.

The Vancouver Canucks captain had the most successful season of the brothers. Quinn won the Norris Trophy, awarded annually to the National Hockey League’s top “defense player who demonstrates throughout the season the greatest all-round ability in the position.”

Quinn registered 17 goals and 92 points in 82 games, leading the Canucks to claim the Pacific Division and vaulting them back into the playoffs.

The Canucks were eliminated in the second round of the postseason by the Edmonton Oilers.

NHL 25 will be dropping October 4th on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, the same day the Devils open the 2024-25 regular season against the Buffalo Sabres in Prague via the NHL’s Global Series.

You can preorder the game today.
