ECHL: Adirondack Thunder Coaching Staff Gets Multi-Year Extensions

Sylvain Cloutier and Ben Holmstrom Staying In Glens Falls

In their first season behind the bench in Glens Falls, Cloutier and Holmstrom led the Thunder to a 37-24-10-1 record, which was good enough for third place in the North Division. It was a +28 point improvement in the standings compared to the 2024-25 season. Adirondack would fall behind 3-1 in the opening round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs, but climbed back into the series as they would lose in seven games to the Maine Mariners. Overall, it was an impressive season for the Cloutier and Holmstrom, who got a late start last off-season after being hired in early July.

“First of all, just two great human beings which is always important for us in Adirondack. A good season, they brought in the right guys, they did get started late in the process this year so we’re expecting a really good summer here for them to bring in their kind of guys not that we didn’t have their kind of guys this year, but a full off-season of recruiting and we’ll have a better team next year and certaintly the kind of guys they really want in the locker which is really exciting”

For Cloutier, he will be heading into his second season in the ECHL as a Head Coach. Holmstrom will be heading into his fifth season as an assistant coach after spending the first three seasons with the Orlando Solar Bears.
